Santos Concert on the Esplanade

This year's free Santos Concert on the Esplanade will be a huge night of world acclaimed music, featuring some of the Territory's best Indigenous musicians.

Showcasing Yilila, with their outstanding mixture of ancient traditional music and the hottest new blues and roots sounds; Wild Water, lead by award winning singer songwriter Djolpa McKenzie from the Anbarra Clan in Maningrida; and Saltwater Band, known as the hottest band in Aboriginal Australia.

Come along with your family and friends for the Darwin Festival's annual night of live music and entertainment.

YILILA

Yilila return this year with a stunning new CD release Manilamanila and their usual outstanding mixture of ancient traditional music and the hottest new blues and roots sounds. WILD WATER

Wild Water's sound captures the contemporary urban identity of the Top End of Australia, with a strong roots sound that reflects the connection of its members to the sea, land and bush.

Singer, songwriter "Djolpa" fronts the band and sings in his mother tongue Brarra, and in Kriol and English. Wild Water are a real crowd-pleaser with their combination of reggae, rock, dub and funk.

SALTWATER BAND

The Saltwater band from Elcho Island off the northeast Arnhemland coast are a new wave in contemporary music representing a uniquely Australian world music style called Indigenous Roots Music. Saltwater Band were a huge hit at last year's Santos Concert on the Esplanade, and are back by popular demand.
