The Darwin Festival presents a Company B Belvoir
Production.
Bangarra composer David Page brings his extraordinary self-portrait
to life in Page 8.
Page 8 is the story of how, as the eighth child of twelve
living in a Mt Gravatt housing commission estate, little Davy
Page became an all-singing, all-dancing sensation. At a tender
age he appeared on Countdown and The Paul Hogan Show and his
singles twice made it to the Top Ten until his voice broke.
Then in his teenage years there were questions of sexuality
until finally he became an award-winning composer for stage,
television and film.
Page 8 is a glorious mixture of story telling, music, Countdown
days, home movies and drag.
"...a beautifully crafted and wonderfully performed
piece of autobiographical theatre... David Page is extraordinary."
