The Creek - Alison Worsnop
Pastel works on paper
A short stretch of a pandanus-lined creek somewhere near Darwin
changes continuously from empty, sun-baked, pink sand to a monsoonal
torrent, teeming with water plants, frogs and fish and the occasional
glimpse of other visiting animals and birds. Each month, each day,
each moment is different.
Working on location, in the sun and the rain, local artist Alison
Worsnop records in her pastel sketches and studies, the seasonal
cycle of this fascinating, but harsh and transient world.
