The 21st Telstra National Aboriginal Land Torres Strait Islander Art Award

Regarded as one of the most significant annual events of the national Indigenous arts calendar, The 21st Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award will be on display at the Museum and Art Gallery of the Northern Territory from 13 August to November 2004.

Telstra, as the principle sponsor of the Award since 1992, has further enhanced the profile and prestige of the Award and this year is particularly significant as the Award celebrates twenty-one years. The 21st Telstra National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander
Art Award provides an opportunity to celebrate the Award’s history, and also acknowledge the achievements by artists who have entered the Award over the years.

This year the Award showcases up-to-date developments in contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art. Consisting of 103 works by established and emerging Indigenous artists, it is a survey exhibition in a diversity of themes, styles and media that art connoisseurs and those who appreciate exceptional art should definitely not miss.
