DARWIN FESTIVAL 12 – 29 AUGUST, 2004

This year, the Darwin Festival will run for 18 days and nights from the 12th to the 29th of August and will feature local and touring performances and events including outdoor concerts, workshops, theatre, dance, music, comedy and
cabaret, film, and visual arts.

The Darwin Festival will truly be a sight and experience to be remembered this year, with the transformation of the George Brown Darwin Botanic Gardens into a lively entertainment hub in a tropical, outdoor setting for 18 days and nights.

The entertainment hub will feature an impressive open-air sound shell, called the Star Shell, which will be a centre of activity with music, theatre, dance, comedy and cabaret performances from 6.30pm to 9.30pm every night of the Festival, followed by live music and entertainment at the Festival Club from 9.30pm until late.

There are so many different performances, events, and activities, with something for everyone, from the free ACCU Teddy Bears' Picnic, Kultura, and the Santos Concert on the Esplanade, to Sing Your Own Opera, the Xavier Rudd concert at the Gardens Amphitheatre, and Ross Wilson and the Urban Legends at the Star Shell - there really is something for everyone.
