NT Music Festival
              
             The NT Music Festival, incorporating the inaugural NT Indigenous 
              Music Awards. The NT Music Festival, formerly known as Original 
              Recipe, will be staged as part of the Darwin Festival, and will 
              showcase and celebrate the Territory’s vibrant original music 
              scene. The NT Music Festival presents a Yilila concert, NT Indigenous 
              Music Awards, Festival showcases and workshops. 
             Monday 23rd August
             'Planet Organic Groove' featuring: JIGSAW, LILLA, 
              FREEDUB, EM DEE 
             
            Jigsaw draws on a variety of styles and influences, playing a balance 
              of original music and Jazz standards. 
            Lilla is a solo performer not to be missed. She will spirit you 
              away, blending soul, funk and blues in an intimate set of acoustic 
              guitar and velvet vocals. 
            Freedub is a dub reggae band consisting of highly talented artists 
              who have come together with a love and passion for reggae music. 
            Em Dee combines didgeridoo with an explosive drumbeat to create 
              a sound that varies from ambient breakbeats to high energy drum 
              and bass of up to 240 beats per minute. 
             Tuesday 24th August
            'Wungubal' featuring: YILILA, STALEDOGG 
             
            Yilila is one of Australia's hottest new bands. Their onstage performance 
              features soaring vocals and a colourful display of Red Flag dancing. 
            Staledogg is a unique individual whose heartfelt lyrics relate 
              to life on the edge. Staledogg uses contemporary hip hop grooves 
              to tell his stories. 
             Sunday 29th August
            'Massive Melting Pot' featuring: DAVID THOMAS, 
              WORLDFLY, ROY MACKONKEY, 
              MANDINKA MUSIC & 
              KING MARONG 
            David Thomas was a founding member of guitar pop band 'fini scad' 
              who enjoyed success throughout the mid to late 90's. In more recent 
              times David has been concentrating on his solo material, with a 
              plethora of sounds rich in flavour. 
            Worldfly draw you in with their universal themes of love, loss 
              and redemption. 
              Roy MacKonkey plays alternative rock with an acoustic flavour. 
             Mandinka Music, with special guest King Marong, is well known 
              for his wild dancing, pounding drumming and haunting singing.
