Greetings and Welcome

This year's festival is already a huge success with 15 sell out shows and all other shows being well attended, the Indigenous Dance program has exceeded expectations, thanks to the wonderful dancing by Red Flag from Numbulwar, White Cockatoo from Maningrida and the Tiwi Island dancers. Highlights have been too many to mention but one thing is certain everyone is having a wonderful time in our beautiful tropical city, that's national and international visitors, locals and artists so well done Darwin but it's not over yet! Five fantastic Festival days remain, and if you're not one of the many people who have attended a Festival event yet you still have the opportunity to be a part of the largest Arts event in the Northern Territory!

 

EXTRA FREE RECKLESS CIRCUS SHOW ADDED TO FRIDAY NIGHT'S LINE UP

Due to public demand we have added another Reckless Circus show on Friday August 25th at 6.15pm this show is in addition to the show at 7pm. Reckless Circus are from Corrugated Iron Youth Arts and are very popular Malcolm Blaylock said demand for the show was overwhelming "The response to this show is fantastic, it's a local youth arts group and we are very proud of its success in the Darwin Festival, or course we want as many people as possible to experience this event, which is free, so that's why we've decided to squeeze in one extra perfomrance on Friday night" FREE Tickets to the event will be available at 5.30pm from the Box Office at the Star Shell.

 

 

STRANGE FRUIT - ANOTHER FREE FAMILY FESTIVAL EVENT

Festival highlight Strange Fruit will perform their wistful physical theatre atop 4 metre poles on Saturday the 26th and Sunday 27th at 6.45pm at the Heritage Lawns at the Botanic Gardens. Bring your blanket or chair and and enjoy this outdoor spectacular enjoyed by over 1 minillion people around the world.
